74th Street MAGIC (Music Art Gymnastic Instruction Center) offers classes for kids in music, art, and gymnastics (as the name suggests), but it also offers instruction in cooking, science, karate, Spanish, and the performing arts.

Culture Bugs Mini Camp returns for its ninth summer in 2006. Like Hi Art, the program combines an on-going exploration of painting, sculpture, and installations at NYC museums with in-studio sessions of opera, dance, film, and theater. The program is offered three days a week, Tue-Thu, with both half and whole days options available. A full week session is also available during the first two weeks of August.

Part of the Children's Aid Society, the Rhinelander Center offers numerous early childhood, nursery school, and afterschool programs. There's a free Saturday program for deaf and hard of hearing children. Summer programs include a mini-camp for 3-5 year olds and a Country Day Camp for 6-11 year olds.

When school vacations loom, consider the Y's Vacation Camp programs. Fees range from $40-$45 per day, and run from 9am-5pm, with early/late stay available for an additional fee.
