Castle Clinton National Monument
The Southwest Battery, constructed off the tip of Manhattan Island was renamed Castle Clinton in honor of DeWitt Clinton, Mayor and later Governor of New York. A roof was added in the 1840s and Castle Garden served as an opera house and theater until 1854. On August 3, 1855, Castle Garden, opened as an immigrant landing depot. Over 8 million people entered the United States here during the follwoing 34 years. The building was altered once again and reopened as the New York City Aquarium on December 10, 1896. It was one of the city's most popular attractions until it closed in 1941.

Federal Reserve Bank
One of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks in the Country. Learn about the central banking functions of the Federal Reserve System through our interactive, multimedia exhibit called FedWorks. Designed as an educational tool, FedWorks allows visitors to participate in monetary policy simulations and to learn about the Fed's role in the economy.

National Parks Service Ellis Island Site
Between 1892 and 1954, approximately 12 million steerage and third class steamship passengers, who entered the United States through the port of New York, were legally and medically inspected at Ellis Island. The Main Building on Ellis Island is now a museum dedicated to the history of immigration and the important role this island claimed during the mass migration of humanity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

South Street Seaport Museum
The museum is located on the site of what was once this country's leading port and is now a twelve-square-block historic district in lower Manhattan. South Street provides visitors with an unforgettable glimpse into a past where 18th- and 19th-century buildings line stone-paved streets; sea-laden breezes waft off the river. The museum fulfills its mission through its galleries and exhibits, living history programs, programs and events, educational programs for children and adults, and the largest privately owned collection of historic vessels (in tonnage) in the United States.

St. Paul's Chapel
Located directly across from the World Trade Center site, St. Paul's Chapel, an Episcopal church, was home to an extraordinary eight-month volunteer relief effort after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. St. Paul's Chapel is Manhattan's oldest public building in continuous use.

Trinity Church
Built in 1846, marks an excellent example of Gothic Revival Architecture.

Tweed Courthouse
The Old New York County Courthouse, better known as Tweed Courthouse, is architecturally one of New York's greatest civic monuments. Built between 1861 and 1881, it is the product of two of New York's most prominent 19th-century architects, John Kellum and Leopold Eidlitz. Tweed is a designated New York City landmark and sections of the interior are designated interior landmarks as well.

Vietnam Veterans Plaza
On May 4, 1985, Mayor Edward I. Koch dedicated this plaza in honor of the 250,000 men and women of New York City who served in the United States armed forces from 1964 to 1975, especially those 1,741 who died fighting the Vietnam War. On November 9, 2001 Mayor Giuliani rededicated the extensively redesigned plaza.

World Trade Center Site
Site of the 9/11 Tragedy where two passenger aircraft flew into the Twin Towers.
